BILDSTÖRUNG - Straßentheater Festival Detmold

For 30 years, the street theater festival "Image disturbance" in Detmold has been moving people and "disturbing" the usual image of the city.

The festival took place for the first time in 1992 and has been held every two years since then. Once again, the KulturTeam is taking on the challenge of creating a festival in 2022 that shows the most diverse facets and forms of expression of the genre.

After the 2021 festival took place compactly over five weekends between August and October due to the Covid 19 restrictions, we are all the more looking forward to the Pentecost weekend from 03.-06. June 2022 with great artists, artistic interventions, participatory performances, installations, dance-artistic performances and a unique audience that is curious and open to productions that deal critically with the individual and society.

Johannes Bellinkx

(UN)COMMON SPACES 2020-2024 Associate artist

Johannes Bellinkx (Belgium, 1978) was educated as a social geographer at the University of Amsterdam and as a physical performer at the Amsterdam Academy for Theatre and Dance. During his studies at the theatre academy he soon developed a strong passion for making and developing his own, independent work in which he questions our perceptive systems and the (re)construction of our surroundings in our brain.

Marco Barotti

Marco Barotti is a modern performing artist in the broadest sense of the word. completing his music studies at the Siena Jazz Academy, he moved to Berlin in 2007 to enter a new audio dimension between the myriad of musical genres cross-pollinating the city. In the last three years, his solo works at the crossroad of environmental sound art, visual art, and participative projects took a leap, shifting his main artistic focus onto these projects

Benjamin Vandewalle

Since graduating from P.A.R.T.S., choreographer Benjamin Vandewalle has created exciting performances and interactions that play with observation and question our way of looking at reality. Besides his artistic activities, Benjamin teaches dance in KASK (Belgium) as well as in South Africa and Mozambic.Next stop: La Strada Festival - Graz (Austria) 26 July - 3 August
