Feral 2025 will be medieval: let's explore the emancipatory power of the Middle Ages in contemporary artistic practice, and look at the ways in which this period serves as a vehicle for collective imagination, struggle and counter-narratives.
The festival will start on Wednesday 17 September with an afternoon at Park Josaphat (1030 Schaerbeek) to meet the Guild of Archers of Saint Sebastian of Schaerbeek and other surprises, followed by Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September at MONA (1090 Jette) where talks, conversations, workshops and screenings will take place. We will also see artist Moni Wespi and her performance SLOWED LANDSCAPES at both venues, as well as on Saturday 20 September in the afternoon in the centre of Brussels, at the Marché aux Porcs (1000 Brussels).
Fascinating historians will shed light on equally fascinating artistic practices. From vertical pole archery to the concoction of ointments, from an invitation to slow down to an encounter with a proto-beguine, from appearances by hobby horses to binge-watching an Afro-futuristic medieval series... Together we will share precious and sensitive moments that will be confusing and funny, stimulating and unifying.

Feral is a festival that reflects on today’s urgent political and social issues, and how artists take them into their hands. It is a programme of artistic interventions and encounters that uses art to influence everyday life in Brussels. Feral can take place on a boat, on a farm, in a swimming pool or an old monastery. Feral is urban, interstitial, peripheral and feral.
Feral is free of charge, on registration: https://framaforms.org/feral-2025-17-20-sept-1756280838
